This product is flame-resistant, reliably prevents leakage currents and energy losses, and its insulation remains intact at operating temperatures up to 205°C . In the event of a fire, it forms an insulating ceramic shell that prevents short circuits even at temperatures between 800 and 1000°C . This significantly improves passenger and fire safety for rescue workers and passengers .

The Importance of Insulation in EV Systems

Silicone insulation materials like ELASTOSIL® R 531/60 are critical for preventing electrical failures and short circuits . As voltage levels increase, the risk of arcing and creepage currents also increases. Silicone's high dielectric strength and ability to resist tracking and erosion make it an ideal solution for insulating high-voltage components like cables, connectors, and busbars .
