The Gene Panel Market is undergoing significant transformation as next-generation sequencing, artificial intelligence, and advanced bioinformatics become more integrated into clinical diagnostics. The market was valued at USD 3.56 billion in 2025 and is forecast to reach USD 14.03 billion by 2035, reflecting a CAGR of 14.58% from 2026 to 2035.

Next-generation sequencing is replacing many conventional single-gene testing approaches by enabling laboratories to analyze multiple genes simultaneously. This technology provides broader genetic information and is particularly useful for cancer profiling, hereditary disease assessment, and pharmacogenomic testing.

Amplicon-based sequencing accounted for 65.46% of the market in 2025. Its strong position is supported by lower costs, rapid turnaround, and relatively low DNA requirements. Hybridization capture approaches are expected to gain importance as laboratories increasingly process larger panels containing hundreds of genes.

Artificial intelligence is another important market trend. Genomic testing generates large volumes of complex data that require interpretation before results can be translated into clinically meaningful information. AI-assisted systems can support variant classification, automate portions of analysis, and help laboratories manage growing testing volumes. These capabilities may be particularly valuable for diagnostic laboratories facing shortages of specialized genomic professionals.

The integration of complete workflows is also changing the competitive environment. Sequencing companies are increasingly combining instruments, reagents, software, bioinformatics, and clinical reporting. Integrated platforms can simplify laboratory operations and reduce the technical expertise required to establish genomic testing services.

The product segment is led by test kits, which accounted for 60.05% of revenue in 2025. Testing services are expected to grow at a faster rate, with a projected CAGR of 15.23% through 2035. Outsourcing allows smaller hospitals and healthcare systems to access specialized sequencing capabilities while benefiting from the economies of scale available at reference laboratories.

Hospitals and clinics represented 51.98% of the market in 2025, supported by the growing integration of molecular pathology into routine clinical care. Diagnostic laboratories are also expected to expand rapidly as centralized testing models become more common.

North America held 38.95% of the market in 2025, while Asia-Pacific is expected to achieve the highest regional growth rate of 15.25% through 2035. Government-funded genomics programs and increasing investments in molecular diagnostic infrastructure are key contributors to Asia-Pacific expansion.

The combination of NGS, AI, automation, and integrated clinical workflows is expected to reshape genomic diagnostics and create substantial long-term opportunities across the Gene Panel Market.
